International cooperation is a necessary approach, and a pivotal trend in the path of any university that seeks sound development, meaningful excellence, refined quality, and to be among the ranks of effective and global universities. The nature of contemporary science imposes its foundation on multidisciplinary cooperation in all scientific fields. Furthermore, exchanging and following up the developments of everything related to the work of universities, and activating their role in international cooperation activities. Hence the direction of King Abdulaziz University since its establishment in the year 1387 AH 1976 AD has been to
pay special attention to international cooperation and positive fruitful openness to global experiences. The University has been working to raise the level of cooperation in international work, especially in the last decade in all fields: (academic, educational, research, training, and cultural),
The University encouraged all aspects of constructive cooperation with international bodies and universities to achieve its mission "Our societal responsibility: developing knowledge, scientific research, innovation, and entrepreneurship", and to be a pioneer in community development and international cooperation and partnership. The international agreements at King Abdulaziz University have attained a number of achievements that contribute in serving the society, and improving the University's outputs, and its environment. This have been reached in terms of educational and research programs, academic accreditations, training, applicable patents, advanced industry fields, and other international partnerships.
The University also took the initiative, in its agreements, to extend cooperation, exchange knowledge, and offer its expertise with various bodies and universities. Therefore, international partnerships represent an important axis for the social structure of universities in the contexts of their development, controlling the quality of their performance, and activating their role in their small and large worlds, especially in the post-globalization era.
